The focus in this fun and entertaining experiential workshop is on using drawings and art techniques to gain a better understanding of clients in play therapy. We will explore assessment and intervention techniques based on the Kinetic Family Drawing, the Kinetic School Drawing, the Kinetic Work Drawing, the Family Art Assessment, and several different photo-therapy techniques. We will also explore other drawing strategies that can be used as informal assessment and intervention strategies in play therapy, including feeling drawings, body outlines, the Rosebush, the Garden, problem pass-around, and time lines. Other art techniques that you can use in play therapy, such an Invent-a-Pet, Gremlin puppets, Mouthpiece puppets, mandalas, and construction projects, will round out this two day blast of a workshop. You don’t have to have artistic talent to attend...all you have to bring are a willingness to try new things, a desire to laugh and have fun, and comfortable play clothes!
